Most brands that launch a private label water purifier don’t design one from scratch. They pick a proven base model from an OEM RO water purifier manufacturer, then make it their own with their logo, colors, configuration and packaging. It’s faster, it costs less and it carries far less risk than starting from zero.
The tricky part is choosing that base model. Get it right and you have a product that fits your market and sells without much friction. Get it wrong and you’re stuck with a unit that’s too bulky for local kitchens, too slow for big families or priced in the wrong bracket.
We’re an OEM and ODM water purifier manufacturer in China, and helping brands make this choice is a big part of our work. This guide walks through our tankless RO base models, which markets each one suits, what you can customize and how a private label project moves from first message to delivery.
Why Most Private Label Water Purifier Brands Start with Tankless RO
Every model in this guide is a direct flow RO system. That means it purifies water on demand, with no storage tank under the sink. For a new brand, that brings some clear selling points:
- A compact unit that fits more kitchens and is easier to ship and store
- Fresh water every time the tap opens, which is easy to explain to buyers
- Modern features like filter reminders and TDS displays that look good on a product page
- A clean design that photographs well for online listings
Our tankless vs tank RO guide covers the full comparison if your market still buys tank systems.

Matching a Base Model to Your Market
JF-M80 for small kitchens and sharp pricing
The M80 builds on our M3 with a compact, modular design that takes up 30% less space. Its two-cartridge setup, a PCB composite filter plus an RO membrane, delivers pure water while keeping costs under control.
The interchangeable front panels are a nice bonus for a private label RO system. You can offer different looks from one core unit, which helps you build a range without managing extra products.
Works well for apartments, small households, markets where under-sink space is tight and brands that need a strong entry or mid-range product.
JF-M90 for a premium, smart product
The M90 keeps the same simple two-cartridge setup but adds a smart touch panel. It shows real-time TDS, filter life for each cartridge and working status: Purify, Flush, Full, Lack and Check. Touch keys let users reset filter life or start a flush.
With flow options up to 1200G and 1.5 to 3.0 L/min of purified water, it also suits bigger households.
Works well for brands that want a modern, feature-rich unit at a higher price point, and for markets where buyers expect a digital display.
JF-M3 for a taste-focused push-n-pull unit
The M3 is our classic push-n-pull under-sink RO. It adds a post-carbon CB filter after the membrane to polish the taste, giving you a 4-stage system in a slim 140 mm profile. Each cartridge is made with our own molds, injection-molded on its own and ultrasonically welded.
Works well for brands that want to lead with taste, and for markets where shoppers compare stage counts on the box.
JF-2016 and JF-2018 for a classic multi-stage layout
Some markets still prefer a traditional layout with a separate cartridge for each job. The 2016 and 2018 both use PP, UDF carbon, RO and T33 post-carbon filters, plus an optional alkaline filter that raises pH to 7 to 9. Both are built with an E-chen pump, a Vontron membrane and a 304 food-grade faucet.
The 2016 covers the widest flow range, from 100G to 800G, and adds automatic flushing and real-time TDS. The 2018 shows tap water TDS and purified water TDS side by side, so users can see the system doing its job.
Works well for markets used to 5-stage systems, buyers who want an alkaline option and brands that like naming known component brands.

What You Can Customize on a Private Label RO System
Once you’ve picked your base model, there are three levels of customization.
Level 1: Basic customization
Color, logo, configuration, custom packaging and carton design. Most private label launches start here, because it gives you a fully branded product without new tooling.
Level 2: Upgraded customization
Specialty filter cartridges that set your product apart, including mineralizing, alkaline, ORP/hydrogen-rich and UV sterilization options. Useful when your market expects a specific feature.
Level 3: Full mold design
Tailor-made molds and unique exterior designs for brands that want a product nobody else sells. Because we make our own molds and run injection molding in-house, custom tooling stays under one roof.
How a Private Label Water Purifier Project Works
Every project is a little different, but most follow the same steps:
- Consultation where we talk through your market, target price, volume and the features your buyers care about, then narrow down the right base model
- Samples so you can test the unit and check quality before you commit
- Customization to lock in your color, logo, configuration, packaging and any upgraded cartridges or design work
- Production in our own factory, where every batch goes through incoming material inspection, in-process checks and final performance testing before it’s approved for shipment
- Shipping coordinated with you, with production updates along the way
- After-sales support covering replacement parts and technical questions once your stock lands
Minimum order quantities depend on the product line and how much you customize. Since we run our own factory instead of working through a trading company, we can often be more flexible on MOQ than many manufacturers. Send us your target volume and we’ll give you an accurate quote.
Things to Check Before You Launch
Typical kitchen space
Find out what’s normal in your market. If under-sink space is tight, a slim unit like the M80 removes a lot of friction at the point of sale.
Local water quality
Hard water or high TDS puts more load on the membrane and pre-filters, so your flow rate and filter plan should match local conditions. Our RO membrane guide is a good place to start.
Flow rate
Bigger households need more flow. Our GPD guide explains how to size it.
Replacement filters
Your customers will need new cartridges every year, and that’s repeat revenue for you. Plan for it from day one. Our replacement filter guide for distributors shows how.
Service and support costs
Every service call eats into your margin. Tool-free filter changes, filter reminders and fewer pipe connections make a real difference. Our guide to low maintenance RO systems covers what to look for.
Your manufacturing partner
The factory behind your product matters as much as the product. If you’re still comparing suppliers, our guides on how to choose an RO system manufacturer in China and the top water purifier manufacturers in China are worth a read.
